About the Doctor

Oganes E. Dilanyan
Surgeon, Urologist, Oncologost MD PhD, Head of Clinical and science centre of Urology and Oncology
“Do you know any good doctors you could recommend?” Is the main question on every patient’s mind

What would I like to tell you, my prospective patients, about myself? That I’m a qualified professional with classical academic medical training and heaps of experience? That I practiced medicine abroad, have written quite a few articles and am a member of several Urology Associations? All this is without a doubt important.
But I think that what is even more important is that all of the above allowed me to become “a good doctor one knows” to all of my patients. A doctor that before commencing any treatment, before recommending anything or prescribing any medication considers the following: “What would I do if the patient was my loved one”.
Booking a consultation with me you can be sure that I will see you in time, give you my full attention and offer you the best possible course of treatment.

Focus of clinical interests and experience

Urology and gynaecology

One of the areas I specialise in is treatment of chronic and post-coital cystitis, urinal incontinence and chronic pelvic pain in women. I specialised in urology and gynaecology in some of the leading Russian clinics as well as in various clinics in Austria and France. I have experience of over 400 surgeries in urology and gynaecology such as reconstructive urethral surgeries, transposition of the urethra, various surgical procedures for urinary incontinence treatment and other operations on the bladder.

Andrology surgery

Treatment of male reproductive system conditions such as varicocele, Peyronie's disease, micro-penis and urethral stricture is another area of work I specialise in. I practiced andrology surgery in Germany and Italy and learned from the best professionals in the field. On average I perform around 100 micro surgeries per year and this mainly covers the Marmar procedure for treatment of varicocele, serious cases of Peyronie’s disease and urethral stricture.

Endoscopy and laparoscopic urology

Being a specialist endoscopy surgeon I practice laparoscopic surgery and endoscopic urology and have over 400 such operations for malignant and benign kidney conditions of the kidneys, renal ducts, the bladder and the prostate. Instead of open surgery I offer my patients laparoscopic and endoscopic interventions which allow us to avoid most of the complications of “open” surgery.  There is no post-operative pain or bowel disturbances, no ugly scars or post-operative hernias and there is no need for a long stay in hospital and long recovery. I practiced endoscopic and laparoscopic urology in the leading Russian as well as Austrian, German and French clinics.
I dedicated my doctoral dissertation to endoscopic urological surgical procedures and I carry out around 130 laparoscopic and 200 endoscopic surgeries.

Oncology and Urology

Treatment of kidney, bladder, prostate and testicles cannot be the work of one surgeon only. I established the “Centre for science and medicine specialising in oncology and urology” thus uniting in one team diagnostic professionals, urology surgeons, oncologists, chemo therapy specialists and radiologists. On average we have 700 patients per year come to our centre and we widely practice minimally invasive treatment methods such as laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures for treatment of urological cancers such as use of laparoscopic prostatectomy or transurethral resection of the bladder tumour.  We also perform reconstructive surgery: Bladder reconstruction following bladder removal due to cancer of the bladder, renal ducts reconstruction and plastic surgery for genitourinary fistula. It is important to stress that the clinical base is equipped with the latest medical equipment which allows us to apply non-crippling treatment methods even in the most severe cases.
